Raghunath, Nirmal bag Saroj Mahasuar award

Bhubaneswar : Odisha’s junior cricketer Ragunath Malla and umpire Nirmal Kumar Mishra received the Saroj Mahasuar cricketer of the year and umpire awards respectively at Town Club here on Sunday.

Pragati Sporting player Raghunath was started his career under the guidance coach Kishor Mania and Tuna Sahu. He made his domestic cricket debut in the year 2013-14 season. After that he never looked back, he is the only junior player of the State, who joined the East Zone cricket academy continuously for last four years. He also received a call to join the national cricket academy in Bengaluru this year. The experienced Odisha Cricket Association panel umpire Nirmal, conducted any domestic matches in the State in his 25 years of career.

Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda, City Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, State BJP Vice-president Samir Mohanty, Corporater Rajendra Samartha, Nabaranjan Patnaik and Town Club Secretary Manoj Mahapatra were present in the felicitation ceremony. .
