Indian eves prepare to dominate Hero Gold Cup

Bhubaneswar : Spirited young Indian women football team has made massive strides in the last few months as they went past the first round of the Olympic qualifiers for the very first time in November 2018. Following it up, in January, the team embarked on a four-match winning streak against Hong Kong and Indonesia, scoring 11 goals and keeping three clean sheets.

The team is well prepared to face the challenges from Iran, Myanmar and Nepal in the Hero Gold Cup four Nation’s Women’s Football Championship, which schedule to begin at Kalinga Stadium here from February 9.

We are excited to play the international matches in our home ground. India has been qualified for the second rounds of Olympic qualifiers along with Myanmar, Nepal and Iran. In our last encounter with Myanmar we lost the match 1-2, though they are higher in ranking but we will put a strong fight. Other teams are also equally strong, this tournament will help us to prepare our future course of action , said Indian mid-fielder Dalima Chhibber.

This exposer tournament will help us to develop our combination and coordination. Advertently it will help us to fight with strong teams. Our training is well in position and we all are waiting to deliver the things in the ground now, said defender Dangme Grace. .
