Odisha to face Andhra Pradesh in Nagesh Trophy final

Bhubaneswar : Cricket Association for the Visually Impaired, Odisha team beat the Jharkhand Blind Cricket Team by 10 wickets to enter the final of the Nagesh Trophy played at Barasat on Saturday.

Batting first, the Jharkhand scored 105 for 8 in the stipulated 20 overs due to fine bowling by Pankaj Bhue and Lingaraj Rautra. In reply Odisha reached the winning target without lossing a wicket in 12 over with Pankaj and Lal Prasad Soren scored an unbeaten half century each.

Odisha will face Andhra Pradesh in the final on Sunday to be held in the Eden Gardens. Odisha was in group D. A total of 24 states participated in the tournament. In the league round Odisha beat Goa at Goa, and Rajasthan, Pondicheri and Punjab at Rajasthan. Odisha lost one match against Karnataka at Goa and got to the 2nd position in group D thereby qualified for the quarterfinal. On 25th of January Odisha beat Haryana in the quarterfinal and entered as the 3rd team for the Semifinal. Odisha will play the national tournament final for 4th time and was the champion in nationals in 2016 by beating Gujarat. .
