MCC enter Aurobinda Memorial cricket quarterfinals

Bhubaneswar : Mukteswar Cricket Club (MCC) entered the quarterfinals of the Aurobinda Memorial Cricket Champion Trophy, defeating Biswabharati Club of Cuttack by seven wickets at Paramount Ground here on Monday.

Batting first, Biswabharati scored 169 for 9 in 40 overs with Baljinder scored highest 93-ball 51 runs, while Md Zishan and K Kiran Kumar contributed 32 and 34 runs respectively. Sriraj Pattnaik was the most successful bowler for MCC picking three wickets for 18 runs,

In reply, the combined batting effort by Subasish Mallik (46), Bibhansu Sekhar Ray (37) and Karan Mohapatra (41) guided MCC to reach the winning target by losing three wickets in 32.1 overs.

Brief Score: Biswabharati Club 169/9 in 40 overs (Baljindar Singh 51, Md Zishan 32, K Kiran Kumar 34; Sriraj Pattnaik 3/18) lost to Mukteswar Cricket Club 172/3 in 32.1 overs (Subasish Mallik 46, Bibhansu Sekhar Ray 37, Karan Mohapatra 41) by 7 wickets. .
