Pramod includes in TOP scheme

Bhubaneswar : The Sports Authority Of India’s mission Olympic cell has named Odisha’s ace shuttler Pramod Bhagat among the five para badminton players in the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) for Tokyo Paralympic Games.

The dicission has been taken in a meeting held on Tuesday at Delhi, chaired by SAI DG and attended by Indian Olympic Association president Narinder Batra and representatives from various federation.

Pramod is the first Odisha’s athletes named in the TOPS.His name was finalised after reviweing his last three years performance in the paralympic games, world championships and verious international events.

Recently he bagged a gold and a bronze medal in the singles and doubles event respectively in the Asian Para Games 2018 at Jakarta.

Pramod also won gold and silver medals in the SL3 category singles and doubles evnents respectively in the IWAS World Games 2019 and also in the Australia Para Badminton International 2018.

He claimed a bronze medal each in the singles event of the BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2017 and Asian Para Badminton Championships 2016.

He had won numorious international medals in the Thailand Para Badminton 2018, 4th Turkey Para Badminton 2018, Fazza Dubai Para Badminton 2018, Thailand Para Badminton 2017 and 3rd Indonesia Para Badminton 2016.

Apart from the international medals he also won verious national tournament in both singles and doubles events in the last three years. .
