Sportslogon Team October 5th 2017

Bhubaneswar : New venue, new ground, new season with new coach Odisha team is aiming to start their campaign with a winning note in the group-C inaugural league match against Tripura in the Ranji Trophy 2017 season, schedule to be held at Vikash Ground in the city outskirt here from October 6 to 9.

No dout we are a balanced team, though this year we missed Kalahandi Cup the domestic cricket season of our State. Apart from that our team could not get the opportunity for practice, but i am confident that put together team members who had 300 match experiences in their kitty will definitely put a better show, said Odisha’s new coach Siba Sundar Das.

This year Vikash Ground will be added into the list of another Ranji trophy ground of our State, last 12 days we are practicing here. We will focus season by season the first two hour will be vital as this will be our first match. In the last year our team reached the quarterfinal rounds. This time our team will do better, added Das.

In the last two season our bowlers really back up the team. This time I am expecting the batsman will come up to put decent score in the table. The inclusion of opener Natraj Behera will be a added advantage to our team. Young batsman Ranjit Singh, Subhranshu Senapati, Sandeep Pattnaik and wicket keeper Saurabh Rawat are in good form, so as a captain when each individual will carry out their responsibility the results will be in our fevour, said Odisha Captain Govind Poddar.

We are not having big star in our team, but we are having players who can make big difference in the match. Before the season, the team could not get enough time for practice due to continuous rain in the eastern part of India, said Tripura’s chief coach Anuj Pal Dass.

It’s a new ground here seems to ba a good batting track, most important is as quickly you understand and adopt the situation it will be helpful for your team. We are having three professional players Smit Patel, Gurinder Singh, Yaspal Singh and few young talents in our team, added Anuj.

Odisha is a good team with lot of experiences but we know the strength and weakness of our opponent, we will play accordingly. It will be four day match so we will get ampulla of chances for come back, said Tripura captain Manisankar Murasingh.
