Chandan, Sunil, Ranjan likely to play in Youth I League

Bhubaneswar : Becoming a source of inspiration for many sports enthusiasts in the State, three young footballers of different slums of Capital city got invitation to join Baichung Bhutia Football Club (BBFC) at Delhi.

Chandan Nayak hailing from Sabar Sahi, Sunil Soren and Rajan Soren of Sahia Sahi will proceed on Friday to join BBFC. They will be trained their under the guidance of Bhutia. The team will participate in the U-14 Youth I League Football tournament schedule to be held in the month of November, said Kalinga Academy Football coach Jaydev Mohapatra.

Chandan comes from an underprivileged family and has crossed several hurdles to reach where he is today. His father deserted the family when Chandan was very young and his mother works as a domestic help added coach Jaydev.

These three are having lot of potential and talents, if they will put their best at BBFC, it will be an opening for them to join Indian U-16 team. The national selectors will keenly watch the Youth I League to find out new talents for the team, said Jaydev

Chandan, Sunil and Rajan are the students of our school. In our school we give equal priority to education as well as sports. Many students of our school represented the State in different sporting events. Recently, we are started a junior hockey team. We are proud of our soccer star as they will join BBFC, said Capital High School head-mistress Sonamika Ray. .
