Odisha eves suffer another defeat in U-19 meet

Bhubaneswar : West Bengal pipped Odisha by nine wickets in their fourth and last league round match of the in the East Zone U-19 Women’s One-day League match at JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi on Friday.

Odisha was registered third defeat in a row and finished fourth in the five team league with four points. The host Jharkhand emerged champion with 16 points.

Opting for batting first, Odisha was bowled out for 77 in 49.1 overs, while Bengal easily overhauled the target in 22 overs by losing a wicket. Odisha lost wickets in regular intervals, Bengal bowler’s P Choudhary, Jumpa Ray and Susmita Ganguly were pocked two wickets each to restrict Odisha for 77 runs.

In reply, Ankita Chakraborty and Richa was remain unbeaten with 25 and 44 runs respectively and Bengal scripted a nine wicket victory,
