German beat Eng in Hockey World League inaugural

Bhubaneswar : German was started their campaign with a winning note by defeating England 2-0 in the Pool-B Inaugural Match of the Odisha Hockey World League Final at Kalinga Stadium here on Friday.

Both the teams looked compose in the first quarter, though England was entered the soring area in few attempt but unlucky to converted into their fever. Garman took an attacking style of play in the second quarter, Grambusch Mats scored the first goal of HWLF in the 19th minutes. Later he thanks to Florian Fuchs who supplied him the ball inside the scoring zone. Grambusch adjudged as the man of the match.

Cristopher Ruhr doubled the lead in the 25th minutes, Marco Miltkau's brilliant move ended up finding Timur Oruz on the backline. Timur quickly responded it and passed it to an unmarked Ruhr who did the rest.

It was always good to had a winning start in any international tournament, I was scored a goal in the match but equally our strong defence line never put us down in the match, said Ruhr. .
