Australia again draw in HWLF

Bhubaneswar : Unlucky day for defending champion Australia, though they awarded with four penalty corner in the last minute of their Pool-B final league round match against England but failed to score in the last minute and the match ended in 2-2 draw in the Odisha Hockey World League Final at Kalinga Stadium here on Monday.

Ansell Liam opened the account for England in the fourth minute with a spectacular field goal. In the second quarter Australia created few opportunities to levelled the score card, but the England goal goalkeeper and the defence line stood rock solid.

The Kookaburras fight back vigorously in the third quarter, while Wotherspoon Dylan and Govers Blake scored a field goal and converted a penalty corner in the 33rd and 41st minutes respectively and the score board read as 2-1.

Roper Phil’ field goal in the 54th minute levelled the score for England. and score board read as 2-2.

The England goalkeeper Gibson Harry faced the terrible last minute, where he saved four penalty corner and the match ended in 3-3 draw. By the end of the league rounds England and Australia gathered four and three points respectively. .
