Lawn tennis base Gurukul resorts inaugurated

Bhubaneswar : Odisha Tennis Association secretary inaugurated the first Lawn Tennis based Gurukul Resorts at Mendhasala in the city outskirts here on Wednesday.

The resort has three international standard tennis courts with floodlight facility, 10 numbers of cottage rooms, restaurant, cafeteria, open gymnasium and sitting gallery in a 1.45 acres land will be a perfect place to host national and international tennis event.

In a motive to promote the sports among the common masses, Chinamay and his coach Santosh Kumar Mallick adopted few Mendhasala village inmates and trained them to play tennis. Now a days the players are also taking part in different AITA ranking tournaments.

Chinmay Pradhan who is the Odisha’s top rated and first ATP player of the State, started the resorts with a dream to conduct international tennis tournament here, just like the way it happens in overseas countries.

It’s not in my career many well deserving talents of the country could not able to participate in ITF and Pro Circuit tournaments. I am hopeful that my endeavour will help the future generation players, expressed Chinmay

On the occasion the chief guest felicitated Sangram Kumar Patra, Balabhadra Behera, Avijit Pradhan, Aditya Mohapatra and Henamika Karina Sahu are the tennis players of the Gurukul Tennis Academy, for their achievement in Nalco Cup open tennis tournament, which was concluded at Kalinga Stadium here on December 25.

The players are the resident of the Mendhasala village, got training under the guidance of coach Santosh Kumar Mallick. .
