Cooch Behar trophy: Odisha fight back

Bhubaneswar : Odisha road on an unbeaten century by skipper Raghunath Malla and another valuable ton of Joyti R Behar guided the team to score 334 for 4, in reply to host Tamil Nadu’s mammoth 600 for 4 declared first innings score in their four day Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 group-A match at TNCA Academy on Wednesday.

While the stumps were drawn for the day three, Raghunath and Binit K Mohanty were batting with 135 and 19 respectively.

Resuming their first innings overnight score 132 for 2, Odisha added 203 by losing one wicket in the day.

Raghunath (139) and Joyti (118) was stitched an impressive 209 runs for the third wickets to ensures team’s fighting sprite. Ragunath’s 383- ball innings was studded with 15 boundaries, while Joyti contributed 17 fours in his 203-ball innings.

In the batting track after the shaky start, Tamil Nadu declared the first innings, while Aditya Barooah and Pradosh Ranjan Poul scored 176 and unbeaten 229 runs respectively to reach the 600 target.
