Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Odisha beat Assam by 51 runs

Bhubaneswar : In a low scoring match, Odisha’s bowlers Prayas Singh and Abhisek Rout was pocketed three wickets each and helped the team to win over Assam by 51 runs in the league round match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy East Zone T20 League at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on Wednesday.

Batting first Odisha never got the chance to create a partnership to excel in scoring, they lost wickets in regular intervals and scored 127 for 9 in 20 overs.

In reply, the discipline bowling of Prayas Singh who scalped three wickets by giving six runs and in other end , Abhisek was complimented Prayas by picking another three Assam wickets for 14. Assam was bowled out for 77 in 17.2 overs. Odisha was scripted their first win after conceding defeat from Bengal in their inaugural match.

Odisha Cricket Association on Wednesday announced the team for last to matches. Anurag Sarangi will lead the team whileSubhranshu Senapati will shoulder the responsibility of vice-captain.
