Railway enter National Women Football quarterfinals

Bhubaneswar : Railway’s forward Yumnam Kamala Devi was dominated the show by nailing six goals and powered the team to registered their hat-trick win by defeating Kerala Football Association by 13-0 in the Group-E league round match, with the win Railway team entered the quarterfinals of the 23rd Sr Women National Football Championship at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Sunday.

Yumnam opened the account for the Railway team in the 14th minutes, she also scored in the 20th,33rd,38th, 55th and 59th minutes. Suprabha Rout was joined the goal shower by scoring double goals in the 18th and 67th minutes, while Sanju, Kavita Devi and Manpreet Kaur joined the party by scoring a goal each in the 40th,42nd and71st minutes respectively.

In another Group-E league match, Bihar pipped Chandigarh by 7-1 goals, but failed to qualify for the quarterfinals.

The match between Pondicherry and Haryana was ended in 2-2 goals draw in the Group-F league match. Pondicherry is inch closer to qualify for the last eight rounds, they registered two win and a draw in their three outings.

In another Group-F match, Madhya Pradesh was claimed their solitary win in their third and last league round match against Jammu and Kashmir with 5-0 goals. .
