Haryana enter National Women Football quarterfinals

Bhubaneswar : Haryana edged out Jammu and Kashmir by a massive 24-0 in the Group-F league match and entered the quarterfinal rounds on the basis of goal difference in the 23rd Sr Women National Football Championship -2017-18 at Barbati Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday.

While Pondicherry and Haryana scripted two win and a draw each in their three league round matches.

Haryana was needed 20 goals in the last league round match against Jammu and Kashmir to enter the quarterfinal rounds.

Five of Haryana players including the skipper Deepika was scored hat-trick each. Nisha who was opened the flood gate in the 6th minutes and she scored total six goals in the 6th,38th,65th, 67th, 80th and 80rd minutes. Captain Deepika joined the party by nailing goals in the 13th,30th,32nd, 47th and 79th minutes.

Ritu Rani and Ravina Yadav were added four goals each for Haryana in the 9th,39th,57th,77th and 14th , 43rd, 55th ,63rd minutes respectively, while Sushma netted three goals in the 85th,86th, 87th minutes and Sunita Singh contributed a solitary goal in the 54th minute and Haryana scripted a thumping 24-0 win.

In a Group-E league match, Kerala edged out Chandigarh 5-0 goals, however the results made no difference to quarterfinal lined up, earlier, Railway team was conformed their place in the last eight round becoming Group-E topper with hat-trick win. .
