East Zone U-23 Women cricket: Odisha Bt Assam by 54

Bhubaneswar : After conceding six wickets defeat from Bengal on Tuesday, a five wicket haul by Odisha skipper Sushree Dibyadarshini powered the team to made comeback by defeating Assam by 54 runs in the league round match of the East Zone Inter State U-23 Women's One-Day League at J U Second Campus, Salt Lake Kolkata on Wednesday.

Odisha registered their second win in their three outings, earlier they edged out Jharkhand in their inaugural match by 97 runs.

Batting first, Odisha was bowled out for 121 in 44.5 overs with Sumitra Sahoo scoring highest 29 runs.

In reply, Odisha’s Sushree was scalped five wickets for 32, while her-mates Rajashree Swain and D Janaki Reddy were pocketed two wickets each to bundle out Assam for 67 in 23 overs.

Brief Score: Odisha 121/10 in 44.5 overs (Sasmita Mahalik 20, Sumitra Sahoo 29; Shanti Rai 3/12, Urmila Chhatarjee 2/23) beat Assam 67/10 in 23 overs (Sapna Choudhary 19; Sushree Dibyadarshini 5/32, Rajashree Swain 2/12, D Janaki Reddy 2/4) by 54 runs. .
