Dipanda Dicka’s doubles guide Mohun Bagan into SuperCup quarterfinal

Bhubaneswar : In the drizzling pre-quarterfinal match, Aser Pierrick Dipanda Dicka’s double strike guided Mohun Bagan into the quarterfinals by winning over Churchill Brothers FC of Goa by 2-1 goals in the Hero Super Cup at Kalinga Stadium here on Sunday.

Mohun Bagan was made their home work properly, with a separate plane for the Churchill striker Willis Plaza, he always surrounded with three defenders whenever he got the ball.

Despite the all odd he scored the opening goal for Churchill Brother in the 30th minute. It’s midfielder Nicholas Fernandes was ran down the middle of the pitch and squared the ball for Plaza at the edge of the box. The Trinidadian Plaza took a touch, went past Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Kingsley Obumneme and found the back of the net.

Desperate Mohun Bagan team need a goal to equalise the score in the first half, the golden chance make to team, when Churchill’s mid-fielder Nicholas brought down SK Faiaz inside the box in the first half injury time. The referee came into action by rewarding a spot kick to Mohun Bagan.

Aser Dipanda who took the penalty kick and converted to equalise for Mohun Bagan 1-1 in the 45+3 minute.. His initial shot was saved by Churchill goalkeeper Ricardo Cardozo but he pushed the ball into the net from the rebound. After the lemon breaks, Mohun Bagan created many chances with the combination attack by mid-fielder Yuta Kinowaki , Sk Fizal and Aser Dicka.
In the 70th minute, Aser Dipanda put Mohun Bagan in front by scoring his individual second goal. Mid-fielder Cameron John Watson strike a long ball inside the box and Akram Moghrabi kept the ball in play with a header and placed to Dipanda who nailed the final goal for the team. .
