PM Academy enter PVR Murthy cricket quarterfinals

Bhubaneswar : The all-round performance by Sarfaraj Khan, who scored 22-ball 26 run and pocketed four wickets to help P M Academy School to enter the quarterfinal rounds of the 13th PVR Murthy Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament, defeating Sayed Seminary School by three wickets at BOSE Ground in Cuttack on Thursday.

Being invited to bat first, Sayed School bowled out for 102 run in 17.5 overs with Tajesh Rao and Abdul Sharik were contributed 33 runs each. Sarfaraj was the most successful bowler for P M Academy, picking four wickets for 13 runs, while K Kiran Kumar scalped three wickets.

In reply, Sarfaraj’s quick fire 26 runs studded with six boundaries and the P M Academy reached the winning target in 16 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Winning team all rounder Sarfaraj adjudged as the man of the match.

In the pre-quarterfinal match on Friday, Cambridge School will face Railway Settlement High School.

Brief score: Sayed Seminary School 102/10 in 17.5 overs (Tajesh Rao 33, Abdul Sharik 33; Sarfaraj Khan 4/13, K Kiran Kumar 3/23) lost to P M Academy School 103/7 in 16 overs (Sarfaraj Khan 26; Sk Latif 3/21, Sk Abes Bux 2/23, B Vishal 2/30) by 3 wickets. .
