OPHS enter PVR Murthy cricket quarterfinals

Bhubaneswar : The all-round performance by Mangesh Choudhary, who scored 59-ball 39 runs and scalped a wicket to guide Odisha Police High School (OPHS) into the quarterfinal of the 13th PVR Murthy Memorial Inter School Cricket Tournament, defeating Ravenshaw Collegiate School by 5 wickets at BOSE Ground in Cuttack on Sunday.

Winning the toss OPHS was elected to field first, OPHS bowlers Madan Das and Sohib Khan bagged four and three wickets respectively to bowled out Ravenshaw Collegiate School for 117 in 24.1 overs.

Chasing the target, Mangesh and Prasant Gamanga of OPHS scored 39 and 36 runs respectively and ensured the team to reach the winning target in 23 overs for the loss of five wickets. Mangesh of the winning team received the man of the match award. In the pre-quarterfinal match on Monday, KISS of Bhubaneswar will face Saraswati Sishu Mandir, Mahanadi Vihar of Cuttack.

Brief Score: Ravenshaw Collegiate School117/10 in 24.1 overs (Kamalalochan Senapati 20; Madan Das 4/14, Sohib Khan 3/23) lost to Odisha Police High School 118/5 in 23 overs (Mangesh Choudhary 39, Prasant Gamanga 36; Omkar Das 3/13) by 5 wickets. .
