MCC win Rameswar Cup cricket inaugural

Bhubaneswar : Mukteswar Cricket Club (MCC) edged out BBCA by nine wickets in the inaugural match of the 2nd Rameswar Cup U-19 Cricket Tournament at its ground in Old Town here on Sunday.

Being invited to bat first, BBCA was lost wickets in regular intervals and bowled out for 48 in 15.3 overs. Subham Shree, Rahul Sharma and Surjit Kumar of the winning team pocketed two wickets each.

In reply, MCC reached the winning target in 9.2 overs for the loss of a wicket and entered the quarterfinal rounds. While Subham Shree of the bagged the man of the match award. City Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena inaugurated the 15-day meet, wherein 14 teams are taking part. Kishore Club will face Oscar Sporting in the pre-quarterfinal match on Monday.

Brief Score: BBCA 48/1 in 15.3 overs (Subham Shree 2/16, Rahul Sharma 2/10, Surjit Kumar 2/13) lost to MCC 51/1 in 9.2 overs (Bismaya Rout 24) by 9 wickets. .
