CM Naveen Patnaik launches the AAC 2017 Coffee Table book

Bhubaneswar : To mark the stupendious achievement in the field of Indian sports by hosting the 22th Asian Athletic Championships held in the capital city here 2017 in a record timing of 90 days. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched the AAC Coffee Table Book and Documentary at an event held at the State Secretariat.

Consisting of well-curated content and memoirs, the coffee table book and documentary capture the action and emotions of AAC along with the achievements of the State, which has become a shining steps to make Bhubaneswar as the sports capital of the nation.

Commenting on the occasion, Naveen Patnaik said, “Initiatives like these are the cornerstone to propel and make Bhubaneshwar and Odisha, a hub for sports in the country. AAC represents by 42 countries and more than 1000 sportsperson. The event demonstrated the leadership ablity of the State.”

Vishal Dev, Commissioner–cum-Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Services said, “We are committed to the development of sports and The AAC 2017 was the perfect example as it inspired us to take up the challenge and turn things around in a record 90 days. We are proud about the fact that the Kalinga Stadium is a symbol for world class sporting events, and upcoming events like the Odisha Hockey World Cup in 2018 will only reinforce this” .
