Khorda bag over-all champion trophy in Tribal Sports meet

Bhubaneswar : For the first time in the country, Odisha State Government organised three day Odisha State Level Tribal Sports Competition at three different venues in the twin-city wherein Khorda districts emerged over-all champion

The players were participated in the athletics event at Kalinga Stadium, while hockey and archery held at KIIT University and kho kho, kabaddi and volleyball events were held at Stayabrata Stadium in Cuttack.

Khorda districts senior boys and girls hockey and kho kho teams emerged champioon in their respective groups in the final day.

In the senior boys and girls football final matches, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur win over Sundargarh and Mayurbhanj respectively to receive the champion titles. Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik Gave away the cash prizes and trophies in the closing ceremony at J N Indoor Stadium in Cuttack.

While Ghumura dance troupe of Kalahandi greeted the CM on his arrival and Durua dance group of Koraput stall the show.

Among others, Sports and Youth Services Department secretary Vishal Kumar Dev, Director Vineel Krishna, SYWB Working Chairman Arup Patnaik, Cuttack Barabati MLA Debashish Samantaray, Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahatab, Sports and Youth Services Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera, State ST and SC Minister Ramesh Majhi were present. .
