Odisha eves thrash Uttarakhand in National Sub-jr football

Bhubaneswar : A six goal haul by Joyti Kumari helped the host Odisha to start their campaign with winning note by winning over Uttarakhand by 17-0 in the Group-C league round match of the Sub-Junior Girl’s National Football Championships at barabati Ground in Cuttack on Tuesday.

Malati Muna opened flood gate for the host in the 4th minute of the play she also netted another goal in the 31st minutes.

Joyti joined the party by nailing goals in the 19th,29th, 45+1st, 76th,77th and 90th minutes. Manisha Naik was the second highest scorer of the day, she netted four goals in the 13th,26th,50th and 62nd minutes.

Manisha was substituted by Barsha Mahakund in the 63rd minutes. Barsha was also netted a hattrick by scoring in the 67th, 84th and 87th minutes. While Gayatri Behera was contributed double goals in the 36th and 39th minutes.

Conceding a goal down, Manipur defeated Tamil Nadu by 8-1 in the pool-D league and scripted second win in a row. Priyadarshini S opened the account for Tamil Nadu in the 27th minutes and the score board read as 1-0 in the first-half.
After the change of sides, Manipur dominated the show, Naorem Priyangka Devi scored four goals in the 49th,63rd,65th and 90+3 minutes, while S Lynda Kom netted hattrick in the 71st,90th and 90+1 minutes. Mayanglambam Jeena Chanu scored a solitary for Manipur in the 57th minutes.

Four goals each haul by skipper Sunita Munda and Soni Munda powered Jharkhand to notch their back to back wins by winning over Goa in the group-B league match by 10-0 goals.

Sunita scored in the 5th,21st,59th and 67th minutes, while Soni netted goals in the 8th,60th,61st and 88th minutes. In between, Astam Oraon and Archana Kumari Ray were scored a goal each in the 7th and 80th minutes respectively. .
