HP thrash Pondicherry 28-0 in National Sub-jr Girl’s football

Bhubaneswar : Rode on a hattrick each by five players and nine goals haul by skipper Anju powered Himachal Pradesh to thrash Pondicherry by a huge 28-0 in the group-E league match of the Sub Junior Girl’s National Football Championships at Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Wednesday.

Anju, Manisha Manisha, Kiran, Nisha and Poonam were contributed a hat-trick each to start their campaign with a winning note.
Anju (27th,48th,52nd,56th,59th,70th,79th,80th, 87th ), Manisha (31th,42nd, 78th ), Kiran (14th,18th,24th,40th,45+1,49th ), Nisa (46th,67th, 69th ) and Poonam (4th, 45th,61st,68th, 89th ) were dominated the day. While in the high scoring match, Varsha netted a solitary goal in the 53rd minute.

In another high scoring match of the day in the same venue, Gujarat edged out Andhra Pradesh by 10-0 to notch second wins in a row in the group-G league match.

Drishti Pant who draw the first blood for Tamil Nadu in the 5th minute also netted ywo more goals in the 45+2 and 64th minutes to complete her hat-trick. Similarly, her-mate Antarben Mevaji Thakor netted another hat-trick by scoring in the 53rd,68th and 72th minutes.

Ishita Ann Mathew joined the party by netting double goals in the 71at and 82nd minutes, while Hiteksha Tabiyad and Shilpaben Devabhai Thakor were scoredc a goal each in the 45th and 87th minutes respectively.

Two more league matches were played at Ravenshaw ground, where Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh defeated Punjab and Bihar by 1-0 and 3-2 respectively. .
