Dutee likely to get another Asian Games medal

Bhubaneswar : Soon after winning a silver medal in the 100 metre event, Odisha’s ace sprinter Dutee Chanda entered the 200 metre final by clocking 23.00 seconds in the 18th Asian Games at Jakarta on Tuesday.

Dutee is fastest among the all in the semifinal rounds. She was closely followed by 100 metre gold winner Bahrain sprinter Odiong Eddidiong with 23.01 sec.

Earlier in the heats round Dutee was clocked 23.37 seconds to become the second fastest in the heats rounds.

Dutee was surpassed her personal best timings of 23.73 seconds, she was bagged bronze medal in the 200 metre event with 23.81 seconds in the Asian Athletics Championships held at Pune in 2013.

Odiong clocked 22.84 seconds in the 200 metre semifinal of the Rio Olympic in 2016 and clocked 23.24 during World Championship in London in 2017. She will put all her effort in the final on Wednesday.

Another Indian sprinter Hima Das entered the semifinals along with Dutee, but she was disqualified in the semifinal. .
