Odisha beat Delhi in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Bhubaneswar : After conceding back to back defeat in a row and a draw, finally Odisha managed to registered a win in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, by defeating home team Delhi in a closely-fought game by nine runs at Palam Ground in Delhi on Wednesday.

. After scoring 249 for 4 while batting first, Odisha has picked up two Delhi wickets for 44 runs in 12 overs in Round six of the elite group B match Suryakanta Pradhan and Deepak Behera was picked up the wickets of Dhruv Shorey and Unmukt Chand respectively.

Odisha bowlers had picked up wickets in regular intervals as Delhi was reduced to 167 for 8 in 35.3 overs. Delhi need 83 more runs to win with 14.3 overs to go.

Odisha was in a great position at one stage with Delhi nine down but 66-run stand for the last wicket between Subodh Bhati (42*) and Navdeep Saini (25) took them to 240 but Delhi couldn't cross the line in 48 overs and were bowled out.

For Odisha, Biplab Samantaray (63), Subhranshu Senapati (59*) and captain Govinda Poddar (56) scored fifties while Rajesh Dhuper also got off to a good start scoring 46 were helped the team to gather a healthy 249 for 4.
