Sportslogon Team October 31st 2018

Bhubaneswar : As a part of the built program for the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup, the sports and Youth Services Department has been invited New South Wales Institute of Sports (NSWIS) of Australia to play a two match friendly series with Odisha XI.

The matches will be held at Kalinga Stadium here and Biju Patnaik Stadium at Rourkela on November 1 and 4 respectively.

It will be a great opportunity for our young players to play a match against international team in our home turf. NSWIS is a better team, but our team is well combined with experience and young players, said Odisha XI captain Roshan Minz.

Odisha is supremely famous for hockey players. I was played against few Odisha hockey talents during the Junior Hockey World Cup held at Lucknow. I found they are tough players. It will be a great opportunity for our team to meet Odisha’s local talents. We look forward to enjoying tough and interesting match, said NSWIS captain Kurt Lovett.

Odia umpire Nishan Jyoti Mohanty has been appointed to officiate the friendly series as official. .
