Players are on their toes to get into final 18 Indian squad

Bhubaneswar : After sharing the titles of the Asian Champions Trophy with Pakistan , the Indian Hockey team has been assimilated again at Bhubaneswar to start their second phase of senior national selection hockey camp at Kalinga Stadium. The 34 players who are in the camp are on their toes to get the place in the final eighteen squad.

While top 16 teams of the World will be in a race to grab the Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup, which schedule to held here from November 28 to December 16.

As a host team playing in front of your won crowd is all together a different ball games. It's all about how you manage the pressure.

The team ranking is not that important in present form of hockey, anyone can upset any top ranking team in a particular day. The biggest example is Women's hockey World Cup and Soccer World Cup. In the recently concluded women's hockey Ireland played the final, while Croatia entered the soccer world cup final, before the tournament can any one predicted these countries names, said Indian senior team coach Harendra Singh .

It is a matter of pride for each and every Indian player to get the tri-colour jersey, as a player it is their responsibility to give the best in the ground. All the campers are giving their best in the training seasons but the best 18 who understand the hockey will be in the team. Regarding World Cup we will plan match by match, added Harendra.

We were disappointed with the Asian Champions Trophy final results, where rain was spoiled the match and we were forced to share the title with Pakistan. But I am happy with the team performance in the tournament at Oman. Now the biggest one is coming on November 28, the boys are charged to rock the podium. We will plan match by match to go further, said Captain Manpreet Singh. .
