India matches of Hockey World Cup tickets sold out

Bhubaneswar : Unbelievable in the cricket crazy nation like India the league round matches of Indian Hockey team and the knockout rounds tickets of the Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup has been sold out in just one hour of the opening of counters at Kalinga Stadium here on Monday. Similar situation also prevailed in the outlets in the twin city.

The physical sale of tickets were began at the Box Office at Gate No. 9 of Kalinga Stadium and all the 20 different outlets were started at 10 AM today

The people were came to the Kalinga Stadium in the early morning 6 AM to book their tickets, though the counter has been opened at 10 AM. As per the guidelines was fixed by the organisers each person to got maximum two tickets. However the hockey lovers were came in a huge number out of which maximum of them had to return with empty hands.

The opening match of the Odisha Hockey Men's World Cup Bhubaneswar 2018 on November 28, will see World No. 3 Belgium start their campaign against World No. 11 Canada.

The host nation India will also be in action on the opening day as they face World No. 15 South Africa in the second match. World No. 5 Indian team is scheduled to play two more matches in Pool C, which will be against Belgium and Canada on December 2 and 8 respectively.

General tickets for the World Cup are reasonably priced at Rs 200 (East Stand), Rs 100 (North Stand) and Rs 100 (South Stand) for the Pool and Crossover matches while tickets for the Knockout, Semi-Finals and Final matches are priced at Rs 250 (East Stand), Rs 150 (North Stand and Rs 150 (South Stand).

As this is the first time Odisha and third for the nation to host Hockey Men’s World Cup, which I do not want to miss.I came to the Stadium early in the morning to get my tickets. They made numbers of counter to avoid the rush. They should kept a special counter for physically challenged person and senior citizens as like special women counters, said Senior citizen Sarthak Mishra. .
