CM purchases Hockey World Cup inaugural ticket

Bhubaneswar : Less than a weeks to go for the mega opening ceremony of the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup to be held at Kalinga Stadium Athletic complex here on November 27. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik purchased the opening ceremony tickets on Monday by paying Rs 500, officials said.

Hockey India CEO Elena Norman handed over the tickets to Chief Minister today. Top16 teams will battle for supremacy in front of the hockey-crazy spectators at the iconic Kalinga Stadium from November 28 to December 16.

The opening ceremony to be held on 27th November 2018 here and World Cup Celebrations event on 28th November at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. In view of public demand, the ticket sales for both the events will be live on from 20th November 2018 at 12:00 noon IST. Music Maestro A R Rahman will be performing both at the Opening Ceremony on 27th November and at the World Cup Celebrations event on 28th November 2018. Prominent Bollywood celebrities will perform at both the events.

The online redemption of the tickets for the opening ceremony will be from 22nd November 2018, from 3:00 PM IST, at Gate 4 of the Kalinga Athletics Stadium along with other locations throughout the city.

Fans can choose redemption centres from multiple locations/ counters in Cuttack while booking their tickets for the World Cup Celebrations event. The date for online redemption of the tickets for the World Cup Celebration event will be announced in due course.

Hockey India reiterated that tickets can only be purchased online and will not be available for sale over the counter. . .
