Quess East Bengal beat Arrows in Hero I League

Bhubaneswar : Confident Quess East Bengal edged out Indian Arrows by 2-1 in their home away league match in the Hero I League at Kalinga Stadium here on Tuesday. With win Bengal gathered 19 points from 10 matches, while Arrows point remain unchanged with 10 points.

Spanish midfielder Antonio Dovale Rodriguez was made his debut for East Bengal in the I-League today. Bengal started the match with their attacking fashion. Laldanmawia Ralte opened the account for Quess East Bengal in the 24th minute. Spanish midfielder Jaime Santos Colado was received a long pass in the left corner and he put it inside the box , while Laldanmawia rest the ball inside the box with a powerful strike.

East Coast players were attacking the Indian Arrows post again and again to double the lead, however a nasty tackle by Indian Arrows defender Jitendra Singh by bringing down Laldanmawia Ralte inside the D area, which resulted in a penalty kick in favour of Bengal. Bengal skipper Lalrindika Ralte's spot kick was brilliantly saved by Arrows goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Singh Gill in the 31st minute and the first half ended with 1-0 in favour of Bengal.

After the change of sides, the Arrows were created few scoring chances but couldn't converted into goals. The East Bengal were forced to play the last 33 minutes of the match with 10 players as their defender Lalram Chullova got a red card.

Spanish midfielder Antonio Dovale initiated the move down the middle with a lovely pass to Samad Ali Mallick, who was inside the box and his shot was deflected by Arrows goalkeeper Gill , but Jobby Justin scored from rebound in the 64th minute to consolidate East Bengal's lead 2-0 and Justin scored his seventh I League goal.

Indian Arrows was failed to took the adventage of Bengal's 10 member team. In another incident Arrows forward player Ankit Anil Jadhav got second yellow card and sent off the ground, as he drought down Kassim Aidara in an ugly manner at the edge of the Bengal box.

In the final minute of the play, Asish Raj was brought down by Bengal's defender Manoj Mohammad inside the box, Ninthoi Metitei took the spot kick in the 90th minute and scored the solitary goal for Indian Arrows and the match ended with 2-1 in favour of Bengal. .
