Katsumi guides NEROCA to beat Arrows in I League

Bhubaneswar : A double strike haul by Katsumi Yusa powered NEROCA to win over home team India Arrows by 3-2 goals in the Hero I League at Kalinga Stadium here on Friday.

The combination of mid fielder Katsumi Yusa and Nigerian Felix Odili Chidi seems to be deadly from the beginning of the match and created many opening for the team. But the Indian Arrows who opened the account in the 34th minute to get the advantage.

Boris Singh Thangjam draw the first blood for the home team, while Jitendra Singh put forward a long free-kick and Khumanthem Ninthoinganba Meetei produced a through-ball bisecting the NEROCA defenders to reach the winger Boris, who made no mistake to open the account for Arrows.

NEROOCA forward Felix Odili Chidi was scored the equaliser in the 38th minutes with a brilliant pass received from a cross of Katsumi. The first half score board read as 1-1.

After the change of sides, Rohit Danu substituted Ashok Singh in the 49th minute, however Danu becomes the super sub as he received the ball from Meitei and edged past the NEROCA goal keeper Mauro Boerchio to scripted a 2-1 lead in the 62nd minutes.

Again NEROCA level the score board 2-2 through a goal by star of the team Katsumi in the 68th minute. Unlucky home team mid fielder Suresh Singh's hand ball inside the D area resulted in a spot kick for NEROCA , in the 87th minutes Katsumi converted from the spot and NEROCA lead 3-2 for the first time in this match with just three minutes from final whsitle.

With the win NEROCA gathered 25 points after playing 15 matches and placed in the fifth, while Arrows playing same number of matches placed in the 9th with 13 points. .
