8 teams to join YI Corporate Premier League

Bhubaneswar : Corporate Cricket Club is all set to host 2nd YI Corporate Premier League (CPL) at SoA University here from February 3.

Earlier in the first edition total six teams were participated, with the growing popularity this year eight franchises teams will take part in the CPL. The champion and the runner up will receive a cash award of 1 lakh and Rs 75,000 respectively. In the second edition not only the team participation number has been increased but also the cash award also increased. Earlier the champion and runner up use to get Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively.

The eight teams were finalized through action which was held here on December 15. The auction was carried with virtual tokens and each team was allotted 1,25,000. Jiten Sarangi was the most valued players of the action with 28,000 by Royal Rangers.

The defending champion Spartan XI, Royal Rangers, BlueTech Smashers, Surgical Strikers, Royal Kricketing Daredevils and Clouds XI are the eight teams fight for the top prize.

The Sports and Youth Services Secretary Vishal Kumar Dev will inaugurate the CPL, informed CCC President Swayam Prakash Das.

On the occasion of the closing ceremony the CCC will distribute cricket kits to three promising junior players of the State.

Among others, CCC secretary Sourav Dash, vice-president Dillip Jena and joint secretary Jiten Sarangi were present. .
