CRPF to host Youth U-19 talent hunt football meet

Bhubaneswar : In a bid to create a buzz and awareness about football in the country ahead of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in October, the Union Home Ministry has decided to conduct Prime Minister Under-19 Football Cup in all the States throughout the country.
Altogether 16 districts teams including eight women team will take part in the Oorja CRPFs Youth Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament schedule to be held at KIIT University her from May 4 to 14.
The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Bhubaneswar group center is given the task of conducting the tournament in Bhubaneswar and they, in collaboration with Football Association of Odisha (FAO), are going to host the event. The champion and runner-up team will get cash award, said CRPF IGP Kamal Kanta Sharma in a Press Meet here on Tuesday.
The State team selection for boys and girls will be held from the tournament, the state team will take part in the zonal meet at Raipur in Chhttisgarh from June 8 to 25. After that the national tournament will be held at Delhi from July 8 to 25, added Sharma.
Keonjhar, Sundargarh. Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Rourkela Steel Plant, Kalahandi and Sambalpur boys team will participate in the meet. While, Baragarh, Sundargarh, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Rourkela Steel Plant, Kendrapada and Sambalpur girls teams will fight for the top honour. .
