Bhubaneswar win U-19 football Inaugural

Bhubaneswar : Riding on a double goal haul by Gayatri Behera helped Bhubaneswar girls team to win over Kendrapada by 6-0 goal in the inaugural match of the Oorja CAPFs Youth Under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament at KIIT Stadium on Thursday.

Bhubaneswar was dominated the match from the beginning and got the lead in the 12th minute through a goal by Sasmita Behera. Her team-mates, Gayatri Behera and Sushanti Nayak joined the goal shower by contributing a goal each in the 14th and 23rd minutes respectively.

After the change of sides, Sradhanjali Panda, Gayatri and Bharati Das were joined the party by scoring a goal each in the 30th,37th and 46th minutes respectively.

The champion and runner up team will get Rs 50,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively, while third finishers to get Rs 20,000. The champion boys and girls team will represent Odisha Sector CRPF in the second phase at Raipur.

Keonjhar, Sundargarh. Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Rourkela Steel Plant, Kalahandi and Sambalpur boys team are participating in the meet. While, Baragarh, Sundargarh, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Rourkela Steel Plant, Kendrapada and Sambalpur girls teams will fight for the top honour.

Sports and Youth Services Minister Sudam Marndi inaugurated the meet in presence of CRPF IGP Kamal Kant Sharma. .
