15 jointly place in top in Balasore Open Chess

Bhubaneswar : Top seeded IM Sayantan Das of West Bengal maintained his supremacy by winning three consecutive rounds and gathered three points to share the top place along with 14 others in the 2nd Balasore All India Fide Rating Open Chess Championship at Balsore on Saturday.

Sayantan edged out Sanjib Ghose of West Bengal and Smaraki Mohanty of Odisha in the second and third round respectively. Other players who have been undefeated till the end of third rounds are Rajesh Nayak, Biswajit Nayak, Rabindra Kumar Ojha, Rakesh Kumar Nayak, Susovit Das, Baibhav Mishra, Ansuman Samal (all from Odisha), Suvrajit Saha, Neelash Saha, Soham Das, Arindam Saha, Chandreyee Saha, Rupankar Nath and Rahul Krishna Biswanath (all from WB).

While Anisha Mishra of Odisha and Laltu Chatarjee of West Bengal jointly shared the second place with 2.5 points each.

Altogether 132 players including 72 rated players from West Bengal , Jharkhand and Odisha are taking part in the nine round tournament. .
