Shreyansh win State U-7 Chess

Bhubaneswar : Shreyansh Hota of Bolangir gathered 6.5 points and become champion in the open category of the Odisha State U-7 Open Chess Championship, which concluded at Cuttack on Monday.

Mahavir Patra of Khurda and Manav Das of Cuttack scored 5.5 points each and finished second and third respectively. While Rohit Mallick of Khurda and Shriyansh Dey of Cuttack completed the meet with fourth and fifth respectively by scoring 5.5 points each.

In the girl’s category title was claimed by Shruti Snehi of Cuttack with five poits, while Sradha Mishra of Khurda became runner up by scoring five points.

Aditya Bikram Mishra and Pritam Ghose was won the U-6 category boys and girls titles respectively by accumulating four points each. Similarly, Shiyam Satyansh and Aradhya Das won the U-5 boys and girls trophy by scoring four and 1.5 respectively. The top five players from open section and two from girls section will represent the Odisha State in the forthcoming National Under-7 chess championship-2017 to be held at Vijayawada (AP), from September 3 to 11.

Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax Department Kishore Chandra Mohanty gave away the prizes in presence of All Odisha Chess Association President Shekhar Sahu, CDCA secretary Ranjan Mohanty, ITO Bingya Kishore Mohanty and Satya Ranjan Pattnaik. .
